Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center Selected Among The USA's Top Performance Improvement Leaders By Thomson Reuters

�For the second straight year, Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and its senior management team have got been named one of the one C Top Hospitals� Performance Improvement Leader by Thomson Healthcare in the annual Thomson Performance Improvement Leaders study. The study examines the performance of more than 2,800 U.S. hospitals in a variety of clinical, fiscal and operational areas.


Caritas St. Elizabeth's was rated on vIII factors that reflect clinical outcomes and efficiency, such as patient mortality, medical complications, patient safety, length of last out, expenses, profitableness, cash-to-debt ratio and employment of evidence-based medicine. Caritas St. Elizabeth's is one of 100 hospitals that improved the most from 2002 to 2006.

The Thomson 100 Top Performance Leaders study analyzed publicly available Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review data and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) outpatient data.
